Hi Jim, During installation OpenOffice.org will ask if you want your .DOC .XLS and .PPT files associated with OpenOffice.org. It will NOT convert them into OOo formats, but it will aloow you to work with the original MS formats. Any new documents you create can also be saved in Microsoft formats by using "File" -> "Save As" -> "File type" -> Microsoft. You will not loose anything.
