Your files have not 'converted' to any other format. All that has
happened is that the file associations that used to be linked with MS
Office are now linked with OpenOffice. This means that what ever used
to open in MS office now opens in OpenOffice. It was an option that
was presented to you when installing, but it is often missed.

Have a look at this for how to correct :

To Whom it May Concern;
I installed your product (open office) so my assistant and I would not have
to purchase Microsoft Word. Now every file I have is in open office. My
assistant is the only person (in my world) not on MS Word. I need to know
how to convert all materials back to MS Word.. Please advise.
