I'm confused by your statement that you "gave the PDF file to OO
Writer", because OOo cannot open PDF files. Maybe you need to explain in
more detail what you did.
On the surface, it sounds like some issue related to this specific PDF
file, if Acrobat can't print it, and nothing that has anything to do
with OpenOffice.org.
