My version is 2.0.1, the document is a simple list of passwords
which I typed myself and tried to print. When I click to print, the
printer dialog box appears for a fraction of a second and then is
gone, the printer does not react.
Does this tell you anything?

What type of document are you trying to print? Is it an odt
document, or something else? Was it created in OOo, or in some other
application? Can you print other OOo documents, just not this one?
Also, it might help to know what version of OOo you're using, and
what operating system.
