I have downloaded the installer using a dialup connection. I had a 4
hour limit which was rigorously enforced so I had to use a downloader
which was able to resume (Firefox can't, even though it supposedly can).
Bittorrent is an excellent downloader.
Otherwise, there are cd suppliers: http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/
There are also split downloads but the only version there is 2.0.0 and
there are only two mirrors. Details here:
