Are you using version 2.0.3? I had the same problem. My OS is Windows XP.
I switched back to 2.0.2 and the problem went away.

It seems I have the same problem. I've been wondering quite a few days
why I have to open the file manager to search for my lastly-edited
spreadsheet. 2.0.3, Windows XP.
