Dia is much like Kvivo which are both similar to MS Visio are in one aspect
what computer types would call a flow chart program but they can be and are
used for much more and really are simplified forms of AutoCAD Electrical
which brings this to the central issue. Open Office being cross platform
would do well to incorporate the features of Visio and AutoCad into Open
Office Draw. The principal issue with this is not the complexity of the
program but the ability to use existing stencils especially AutoCAD stencils
and to read and write both Visio and AutoCAD drawings. All three of these
functions, stencils, read, and write may have to be add-ins to Open Office as
there could be DCSS type issues but they would be extremely useful to a large
number of people world wide.
