Hi Jim
Hi I don't know how to change openoffice to english. It is in Russian
can you tell me how to do this? Also i tried to download office suite
on your site and it downloaded but i don't know how to get it to open. I
am very new to linux xp 2006 never used linux before i was using windows
xp. Also when I downloaded linux xp 2006 I lost windows xp Pro. I can't
seem to find it on my hard drive and I can't seem to find my other hard
drive. Can you help me with this too. thanks
Welcome to Linux!
I'm not familiar with Linux XP 2006, but most Linux distributions come
with OpenOffice.org already installed, and also an easy way to install
software. (Searching for software on the internet, downloading it, and
installing it has more to do with Windows than Linux!)
I've found some screenshots of Linux XP 2006 at the Tuxmachines site, and
from the look of it, it doesn't come with OpenOffice.org already installed.
But it does seem have an easy way to install software called the
"Add/Update Software Wizard". (It looks like you start this from the Linux
XP 2006 Control Panel by clicking "Add/Update software" from the
Applications section.) The bottom program listed is oo2, which is
OpenOffice.org 2. It looks like you just have to click the tick box, and
click finish, and OpenOffice will be installed automatically for you.
And I assume that it will install it for you in English!
Hope this helps!
Adrian
