I think it would be a good idea for you to read about how email works
and in general how the internet works.
Then you will gather information about how little anonymity you have on
the internet and about some means to improve it.
You can start your reading here:

Pay attention to the "See also" section.
I've got enough on my plate already thanks.
I'll leave the finer points of academic knowledge to experts such as
yourself. I've never managed to cultivate the superior attitude that
seems to be required.
"Raw Display" will show the email headers, this information is available
to all people receiving your mails from the list and there are a lot of
legit uses for it (determine if you are subscribed to the list or not,
calculate spam score of the message, help blocking you if you are a
spammer, help identify which OS a total newbie is using, etc.)
That's a reason for putting it on the web??? No other list I've come
across has found it necessary to publish such details.
A forum may be not that effective in receiving replies. Another option
would be to use another email provider, which will not show your private
IP address (if that is the info you are concerned about).
Note that using a forum the same level of information about you is known
by the forum operators.
I've got confidence in the forum operators.
I can't say I've got the same confidence in whoever is in charge of
publishing information that has no business being published.
Changing email providers is a time-consuming business. No thanks. I'd
rather adapt my behaviour to suit the available facilities.
I've used lists and forums. I don't know what point you think you're
making about relative effectiveness.
Direct reply is rude and bad. Even when replying to non-subscribers, a
copy should be sent to the list, so other people available to provide
help will see the question was answered, may correct the answer in case
it contain errors or is incomplete and the knowledge is shared.
People can make their own judgment about manners.
Hopefully, being better informed about the publication of their details
will enable them to make better decisions about the use they make of the
list.
I daresay many people (being better informed than I) have already made
the decision not to subscribe or to be passive subscribers only.
It occurs to me that no official warning is given because it would deter
people from posting to the list or subscribing.
