     It is possible that Mandirva made a change in that part of OOo's 
code  and that is why you have a problem.  I have been using Mandriva 
since 8.2. (It was Mandrake then.)  I download OOo from the OOo web 
site rather than Mandriva. Since OOo 2.0.0, the Linux version has 
contained RPM files.
