On my 2.0.3 Win XP Pro/SP2 I also only have Proxy, Search and Mozilla Plugin 
under Tools > Options > Internet.

I would expect a Windows app to use the OS's default e-mail program. I've never 
used Thunderbird but it *should* have some option somewhere to set it as the 
default e-mail program in the same way that Firefox (and IE) has an option to 
set it as the default browser.
