Note that templates do not have to be stored in a special directory in 
order to be used. The only purpose the special location serves is to 
make them appear in the File > New > Templates and Documents dialog, for 
which I see little or no value. It is more trouble to navigate that 
dialog than it is to use File > Open and then navigate to a "Templates" 
directory in my top-level documents location. Maybe if I had dozens of 
templates I would see it differently.
