I always unpack the installationfiles to a directory in my softwarelibrary. From there I perform the install. That way I keep my desktop clean and have the files at hand if I need them.

I would like to do a simple question.
After the successful installation of Open Office 2.0.3 , a new
folder named "Open Office 2.0 installation" , was appeared on the
desktop. Now the question: is this folder ( about 98 MB) necessary
, or it can be erased without any problem?

Thank you very much

Most people erase the folder without any problems. I usually keep mine in case I accidently corrupt the OOo files that are installed. In that case, I can do one of two things: I can uninstall OOo or begin setup from the installation folder and select Repair.
