Most likely is that you saved the document in the OOo's native
documentformat *.odt. This requires OOo to open and print it again.
To be able to open a document again on a pc that hasn't got OOo on it
you can go two ways, depending on what you need to do with the document.
1. Just print or view it:
You can use File>Export to PDF and create a PDF-document that can be
read on any computer with Acrobat Reader on it.
2. Ability to edit the document as well
You must use File>Save as... and choose *.doc as your filetype. OOo will
now convert your document to a MS-Word document. This document can be
opened by Word and you can edit it and save the changes. Next time
you're on your own computer again OOo wil open the Word-document without
trouble
