Dear OpenOffice,

I have just installed OOo 2.0.3 in my computer running Mandriva
Linux.

Before, with other versions of OOo, I don't remember exactly wich
ones, I had no problems with the fonts, but now the fonts look bad.
Not only the ones I installed from MS as Arial, Verdana, but even
Times New Roman, etc...

I have been reading a lot of documentation and questions in
different forums, but there seems to be no solution for this issue.

I am always using OOo, but I really think you should consider this
issue as number one, because it is really important to be able to
work with nice characters in the screen.

I hope your next update of OOo will solve this problem.

Regards,

Santiago.

I also use Mandriva Linux. When I installed OOo 2.0.4 RC3, I noticed the font problem with Times New Roman even though it is installed on my computer. However, when I used File > Wizard > New fonts from the internet to download and install Times New Roman, the appearance of this font was correct again.

How did you do that. I would really like to use Times New Roman. What version of oo did it work with? What OS did you use it with. Can I use these fonts w/Fedora Core
