     Your whole situation sounds a little strange to me. OOo Authors 
has a couple of books published by Lulu. As far as I know, the PDF 
manuscripts were created using OOo. So, it is possible that by making 
a change, you might be able to use OOo as the creator of the PDF 
files that Lulu will accept.
     What font were you using for your document? We have used Times 
Roman for the most part.
