I doubt that this person knows very much about OpenOffice.org
(OOo). OOo can save documents in MS Office's formats, but any macros
contained in such documents would probably not work. That is because
OOo does not use Visual Basic to write macros.
His mention of a possible loss of formatting can occur when
creating a complex formatted document and then save it as a Word
*.doc. That is because OOo does not perfectly convert documents into
the Word format.
However, if both the sender and receiver are both using OOo, then
none of these things are likely. Furthermore, a warning pops up
everrytime an OOo file containing a macro begins to open. The macro
can not be run until the person agrees to allow it to run.
