Is there a way to have an Input Field that, once filled in, shows up on
other places in the document without having to fill it in again?
The MailMerge function under the Tools menu would do that. It starts
with a template document (which you can prepare ahead of time or as
you do mailmerge) and a data document, like an OpenOffice or MS
spreadsheet, and makes identical copies of the template document with
the contents of each successive data document row in each final
document. Template documents only work with one data document as the
fields on the data document are pasted into the template where you
direct them.
??
Thanks for trying to answer my question, but I don't know where you got
that I was asking about a mailmerge feature.
All I want is a form, that has a bunch of Input fields onit, that one of
these Input Fields (call it 'Order #') can be entered just once, but
show up in more than one place in the document (like, for example, on
the Page 2 Header if the Order is big enough to require a second page).
I'm thinking there may be a way to do this with a variable field type,
but none of my attempts have been successful...
Thanks,
Charles
