Thanks for the useful tips. The solution to the decimal point sounds complex. The last two digits of any number string would be to the right of the decimal. I,m new to this program. Been a MS user for years and found this feature very handy. I did goof when I titled Writer in place of Calc. Thanks for catching the error.

RE: OO.o Calc
Can this program be set to automatically place a decimal before the
last two digits. It is very inconvenient to hit the decimal point
for each data point in a long list of inputs and slows down the
data entry.
No, it does not do this. How is it suppose to know how many
decimal points each of your entries are suppose to have?
However, if all of your entries have two decimal places, there is
a way to use two columns to do this. Enter all the data in a column
(column B for example beginning in row 2).
Format column C to have two decimal places. Right click the C at
the top of column c. Select Format Cells. Under the Numbers tab
select "Numbers" as the Category and in Options below it increase
"Decimal places" to 2. Click OK.
Click cell C2 (row 2 column C). Type =B2/100, and then the Enter
key. The value should be what you want for the first entry.
Click cell C2 again. It has a little red square at the bottom
right corner. Move the cursor over this red square, and it turns to a
+. Drag it down column C until is reaches the last row of your
entered data. (This will highlight every cell of column C down to the
last row of data.) The values you want will then appear in column C.

In OO.o write:
What is the fastest way to go back and forth between worksheets in
a workbook, when comparing data? Thank you, Don

I believe that this is also a Calc question. When moving between
sheets, I use Control+Page Up (Ctrl and PageUp keys at the same time)
to move back one work. Control+Page Down moves forward one worksheet.
I recommend you download the Calc Guide available at
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors/. It will
answer many of yourquestions you might have about Calc. If you have
used Excel, perhaps the Migration Guide might have some information
you can use. Look over the other titles on this page. They may be
able to help you in the future.
