The following internal error has occurred Getstorage name "NO CONTENT
I have clicked on the link provided
http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/installation/026.html
I followed the steps provided by advice but dont understand from that point?
1. Click on the Start button
2. Click Search
3. On the menu (labelled "what do you want to search for") click "All files and
folders"
4. In the box labelled "All or part of the file name" enter "common.xcu"
**without** the quotes.
5. Make sure the box labelled "look in:" says "Local Hard Drives"
6. Click Search.
but cannot understand the steps provided after step 6 where to from that point i've done
it all and found two files with "common" now where to from there? Any help as
i'm not to computer literate.
Warning: As the FAQ page says, you may only have found the shared files
of the same name, and which should be left alone. What are the full
paths of the two you've found? If they look like:
C:\[some path]\OpenOffice.org\share\registry\...
then these are not the ones (note the "share" in the path).
If you can find the common.xcu file that is your own personal one then,
deleting it or renaming it will cause OpenOffice to create a new one the
next time it starts. It should be in a folder whose path includes your
username (login name) somewhere in it (where the "<user>" is in the path
example below:
C:\Program
Files\OpenOffice.org\<user>\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office\Common.xcu
Rename this file (i.e. move it out of the way so OOo won't find it) to
force OOo to recreate a new one.
Make sure you search all your hard drives if you have several, not just
the C: drive.
