Harold, I am set up to use a NNPT news reader; Outlook Express/news.gmane.org/gmane.comp/openoffice/questions. I can post and read answers to any questions on the forum via Outlook Express, I don't need anyone to contact me via e-mail should I wish to receive e-mails from any contributor I would then furnish them with a contact address. This does not allow me to contribute to the forum without providing a genuine registered e-mail address, I have tried to post with [EMAIL PROTECTED] but this was refused. As I stated previously, when my son initially setup for this forum he received an e-mail from autoauthorizer at Gmane.org, see below: "You have sent a message to be posted on the gmane.comp.openoffice.questions newsgroup.
Before the message is posted on the newsgroup, you have to confirm that you exist. Just reply to this message, and the message will be posted. You have to respond within one week. -- Your friendly autoauthorizer at Gmane.org http://gmane.org/ " Derek "Harold Fuchs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Saturday, October 21, 2006 7:16 PM [GMT+1=CET], Derek <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: If you post to an *e-mail* group using a fictitious address, how do you expect to see replies? And if you expect to see replies you must use an e-mail address that, by definition, can be "harvested". The solution, as another poster has pointed out, is to read the list as a newsgroup (NNPT) using a news reader. I don't know what you use at the moment but there are any number of free news readers around. Both Outlook and Outlook Express do it and I know from experience with OE that you can post from e.g. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Harold Fuchs London, England
