Unfortunately, I don't have another computer, or another OS on my one
computer, to test it out on.
What I did was uninstall 2.0.4, and reinstall 2.0.2. I've been working
with it a lot (many hours) since I did that (including inserting a
number of photos; the file size is now up to 6 MB), and I haven't had
any freezes. It certainly seems to me like it IS related to 2.0.4.
FWIW, the document does contain a special font (orienteering symbol
font). Whether this is related to the freezes or not, I'm not sure. I
would be willing to post this file on IssueZilla (there is nothing
confidential about it), but I don't know how that would work since I am
sure that anyone investigating wouldn't have that font installed.

If OO continues to misbehave on different installation you should report
your problem in IssueZilla, including the document and reproduction
steps. This way OO developers will investigate the issue amd hopefully
fix it.

I'm on Windows XP, OOo 2.0.4.
I'm encountering a very aggravating situation with a Writer
file repeatedly freezing up. The file is a newsletter, with
quite a few sections, many in a 2-column format. The file
size is not all that large at this point, as I haven't added
any photos, although there are a few graphic elements
included. It is less than 1 MB, around 12 pages.
I can work with it fine for a while, then it will freeze up,
and Ctrl Alt Delete is the only way of moving forward. I open
it up, do a simple thing like add or delete a line, and it
freezes up again.
I've done newsletters like this using OOo for a couple of
years and have not encountered this problem up to now. This
is the first one that I've done with 2.0.4, but I'm not
necessarily blaming this version, it could well be something else.
Has anyone else encountered anything like this? Any ideas at
all? Thanks in advance.
