     The problem is simple. Writer is designed to use Styles. You do 
not want to use Styles. Characters have styles, paragraphs have 
styles, and pages have styles. This conflict is the major cause of 
your frustration.
     Then there is the problem with where the graphic ends. As I have 
seen mentioned by another member of this mailing list, most printers 
can not print a graphic all the way to the border of the page. 
However, I had no problems with moving the graphic to the edge of the 
page and then saving it. When reopened it was still where I had moved 
it. Perhaps this also has something to do with styles, but I can not 
be sure of that point.
