Yes, I'm aware of those issues. I've actually been bitten by them and
embarrassed while trying to show off Kword with a document saved with
OOo. But I don't advocate rdf as an alternative. HTML may be a viable
alternative in some instances (where a multi-file document is
acceptable, for instance), and pdf in other instances. Despite that, I
send out all my documents in odf format. The first time I send an odf
document to someone I usually hear a complaint, but after a short
explanation things work out. I'm convinced that inconveniencing myself
slightly now will pay off in the end, especially as I'm getting people
used to the format. And the next time they encounter it, they will
remember that they heard it from Dotan first!
