Start Writer, go to Tools>Options and click the "+" sign next to "OpenOffice.org" to open its sub-list; then click Memory and uncheck the box labelled "Load Openoffice.org during system startup". This will prevent Quickstarter starting the next time you re-boot. 2. Now exit Quickstarter itself by right clicking its icon in the System Tray and clicking "Exit Quickstarter". That kills it for the current session. You can start OpenOffice components from the Start>All Programs>OpenOffice.org menu or you could put shortcuts in a convenient place - desktop, taskbar, ...
