" WRITER can of course read all your old Microsoft Word documents ..." it says.
So as part of my testing to see if I will be able to change from MS to OOo apps, I tried to import a large and complex Word document into Writer. This is a severe test but it's a genuine document that I worked on a while back and might need to revise. It is master file of a book with an enormous table and lots of footnotes (some of which Word, incidentally, puts in the wrong place because of a bug). File size in Word is about 5 MB. Write seems to finish importing but then freezes completely and does not even show any of the text. This might be an unfair test, so my question is: what sort of limits are there on what can be imported? Obviously if I can't import such a file I will have to keep Word going, and this will be a nuisance when I change my PC. -- Tony I don't answer emails - please reply to the list or newsgroup --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
