After it generates the "2" put your cursor after the last
character of the preceeding paragraph. Enter a RETURN and a
new paragraph #2 will be created. The previous number 2
will become #3. Then press one backspace, the #2 will
disappear, and the #3 will become #2 again, but you have the
white space. This is a kludge, but it does work.
Better solution, modify the paragraph formatting to FORMAT
-> PARAGRAPH -> SPACING -> BELOW PARAGRAPH then scroll the
number display upwards to give you as much space as you need.

Hi,
I have a problem with the writer module in OO 2.0.4.
When I start a list off with "1)", enter my text, and press enter, OO assumes I would like to make a nice indented list, so it indents "1)", and automatically types "2)" directly under the text of the first entry, with no white space. This is not the case. I hate both the forced indenting and lack of at least one blank line between entries.
After reading about the AutoFormat function in OO help, I went to the "Format" menu, moved to the "AutoFormat" option, and unchecked "While typing", as the help file instructed me to do.
This did not help. OO still insists on reformatting all my numbers and typed text in lists, popping up the "Bullets and Numbering" toolbar at the top of the workspace. I wish to also disable the automatic activation of this toolbar.
OO is trying to be helpful, but is instead greatly hindering the process of transcribing my thoughts. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
