I can't offer any explanation why your menu entries have disappeared, but look for shell scripts in the OOo "program" directory /opt/openoffice.org2.0 for the "official" edition, some distro editions install in /usr/lib64/ooo-2.0/program or /usr/lib/ooo-2.0/program You could just do a search for the "soffice" shell script. You shouldn't need to know the full path to the scripts, because if you add the Kmenu entries manually you only need to enter the script name in the command field (eg. "swriter %U" for Writer, "scalc %U", etc).
