I uninstalled 2.0, installed 2.1 and am still having the same problem.
(Writer crashes, perhaps freezes is a better word, whenever I try to
modify a paragraph style by changing the font or font size.)
Can someone give some guidance about how to remove personal dictionaries
and such in Windows XP?
Would this info be found in Documents and Settings\Application
Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\config? There are multiple files within this
folder which are described as "OpenOffice 1.1 Configuration File."
Thanks,
Meg

I've seen similar behavior with 2.0 on Linux. It was 'fixed' by
removing all the personal settings and data files (not
documents--things like custom dictionary entries). Maybe even that was
too drastic, but it worked.
Unfortunately, I don't use XP, so I can't give you instructions on
what to do. If you can log into the computer as a different user, that
should let you test it. If OOo works for a different user, then you
should be able to fix the problem by wiping some (or all) of your
settings.
Also, it might be a good opportunity to upgrade to 2.1 which was
released ~2 weeks ago.
