Is there any way to get OO to print page 1 from a different tray to
other pages, Format->Page->Paper Tray only seems to allow for setting
printer tray for whole document.

I understand your problem correctly, this one may help: go to <File>,
choose <print>, and in the pop-up window, under <print range> click the
button for <pages> and input the page-number you want to print.

OK, yep that works but as I do this for every letter (page 1 on a letter
head, rest on plain paper) this is a pain. And it is part of every WP
package I have ever used (even Wordstar in the 80's :-) so I wondered if
this was implemented in OO but just couldn't find it.
