OK, yep that works but as I do this for every letter (page 1 on a
letter head, rest on plain paper) this is a pain. And it is part of
every WP package I have ever used (even Wordstar in the 80's :-) so I
wondered if this was implemented in OO but just couldn't find it.
A trick I've seen is to put a single sheet of letterhead in the "normal" tray just before printing each letter. This then prints page 1 on that sheet and the next page(s) on the blank sheet(s) that were already in the tray. I've never used a printer with multiple trays so I've never seen your solution.

On the other hand, the Help in Writer says that the selection of the tray is part of the page "style". So, according to that (I can't try it as I only have one tray) you can set up a "Page 1" style selecting the letterhead tray and specify that this style is to be followed by a "normal page" style that selects the other tray. Please read about "styles" in the Help and other on-line documentation. Having style X *followed by* style Y is a powerful part of OO's "style" philosophy. Page styles are frequently used, for example, to put no page number on the first page but "2", "3", ... at the bottom of subsequent pages, which is a common requirement for business letters.

I have created a "Letter" template where the Page 1 style is for the envelope (with a Text Box for the addressee, my address in a very small font top left, DL page size etc.) and has "Next Style" set as "default". I use it by printing page 1 separately having copy/pasted the addressee details from the main letter. I think that if I spent the time I could set up a *field* for the addressee details which would then automagically get inserted into the envelope when I type it into the letter. I have to put an envelope into the paper tray just before printing but to do it properly you could have them in a separate paper tray ;-)
