OpenOffice.org (OOo) should be able to open the *.xls
spreadsheet. Just remember that since MS Excel is a closed file
system, there may be some problems. Some formulas are written
differently in Excel and Calc (OOo's spreadsheet application). So, if
the spreadsheet contains any of those formulas, the formulas will
have to be rewritten in a way that Calc will understand.
