The applied style of a paragraph is shown in the toolbar. Consistent styling is something the author must do himself. If you want them the follow a certain pattern then you can define this pattern in the styles. For example if you want a Header1 to be followed by Text1 and then by Text2, you just put it in the definition of the style. I agree with you that the author should be responsible for the consistency of the documents and management of the styles, but I find myself often editing documents that I did not write or that I wrote in different stages. Also, sometimes I find out empty paragraphs that are formatted with, say Heading x style which mess up the outline numbering but that are difficult to spot because they are empty. In summary all I want to say is that I also find this feature quite useful and if someone is going to create a request for it, I will give it my 2 votes. Cheers, Michele
