Chad:

Find your Tiger install diskset. On disk one (the installation disk) is
a set of optional install packages. You will have to scroll down the
installation screen once you place the disk in your optical drive. (Macs
do come with both DVD and CD drives, a DVD writeable disk
is called a SuperDisk.)
Select the X11 User package and install this and only this package.
Once the package installs, select Software Update and update ONLY
the X11 user package. Neither installation should require a reboot
of your Mac system.

If you need further assistance with installing OpenOffice.org on your
Mac system, please first read through the FAQ and How-Tos which
can be accessed from http://porting.openoffic.org/mac
