Because then he'd have to set the different style for each block of
text. That could be a pain.

I'd recommend a font that displays the numerals differently in each
language. That's by far the easiest solution, and it makes the
document portable so that those who are not familiar with the Hindi
characters (Arabs born in North/South America or Europe) can read it.
They can simply switch fonts.
