Hello there. I bought a Mac and now I'm trying to install Open Office.I downloaded the setup file from your official site and when I try to install it, it says that install x11 first.I also downloaded x11 setup file but when I try to install it, it said that you've already installed x11 on your Mac.But when I try again to install Open Office the same error report occurred again. I checked up the utilities folder and I didn't see the X11 file. So what's wrong.Could you please help me. Sincerely Can.
Hello Can Take a look at the Mac pages at the OpenOffice.org website: http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/ Do you have Mac OS X 10.3.x (Panther) or 10.4.x (Tiger)? There is a different version of X11 for Panther and Tiger. The X11 on the Apple site is for Panther. You probably need the Tiger version, that you should install from your Mac OS installation disks (DVD or CD). The name of the package is X11User.pkg. There also is a diffrent version of OOo for Mac PPC and for Mac Intel. Be sure that you have downloaded the right version! If you encounter any more problems, feel free to come back to the list -- Guy using dutch OOo 2.1 RC 2 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
