What is the file type that Office 2007 created?
DOC, XML???
I will download a trial copy and see if I can figure out the problem
but I think that MS has changed the file format
so the Open Source suites cannot use the files
Even Office XP 2003 cannot open Office 2007 files
in its new "default" format.

Hi
I am using version 2.0 of Open Office.org, but I can not open files
created with Office 2007.
I am directing a project in my organization to replace the use of
MS-Office by Open Office.
Is there any plan to address the compatibility issues between Office
2007 and Open Office ? Do you have an ETA for a fix?
Did you try saving in MS Office format, instead of the default
OpenDocument format? MS Office is defficient, in that it can't open ISO
standard file formats.
However, this is not the problem that the original poster reported.
The problem stated that he is using OOo but can't open files created with
Office 2007.
Not that Office 2007 can't open files created by OOo.
(I don't have Office 2007 so I can't confirm the problem, but this is what
the OP reported.)
