James, Hagar and John...
Thanks....
I'll try to be as specific as I can be, as was suggested. Just now I
downloaded a self tutorial from OOo, to pdf format, then I opened my OOo program
and opened the tutorial file and below is what I got, at the top of each page,
various forms of below:
%PDF-1.4
%äüöß
2 0 obj
<</Length 3 0 R/Filter/FlateDecode>>
stream
xœí\ÙŽ,·
What do I need to do, to be able to open up the tutorial file with OOo, so I
don't have to flip back and forth. Thought this would be a much easier way
for me to do the lessons, while actually in the OOo program.

Cindy: OOo does not open pdf files. So it's not clear to me how you even
got a pdf file to open from within OOo. To open a pdf file, you need to
have Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free program) or a similar program (Adobe
Reader is the most widely known) on your computer. Most computers
already to; if not, you can easily download it and install it.
Assuming you have Adobe Acrobat reader installed, find the pdf file you
downloaded (go into the folder where you saved it), and double click on
the file. It should open up in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
