Just how long would it take, anyway? For instance: *** Missing Applications: *Does Open Office have an e-mail client similar to Outlook? Not at this time. The creation of an e-mail client would be expensive in terms of time and manpower. OpenOffice would have to create a team of programmers, then recruit programmers for it or ask programmers from the current projects. The time required for these programmers to get up to speed and get their project compatible with the rest of OpenOffice could delay the release of future versions of OpenOffice. This may change, but right now we would like to focus our efforts on giving people an alternative to the Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint) where there are few viable alternatives available on all platforms. However, like we mentioned, there are some good e-mail clients out there that we can recommend: *Thunderbird http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ *Evolution *Eudora *** You have the same answer with Publisher/DTP, just swap in Scribus, or other tools available. This may not be the greatest answer in the world, but it's a start. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
