2007/2/17, Tom Lando <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Hey everyone- I'm trying to install on my MacBookPro (intel processors) I have the latest versions of all of the system software. I've downloaded the .dmg file for OO and copied them into my application folder. When I open OO I get the following message: "OpenOffice cannot be started because X11 is not installed. Please install Apple X11 first." But I have the latest version of X11. I've tried downloading the latest X11 updates for my OS, but they won't install because *they* recognize that I have the latest versions of X11. so: any suggestions? Thanks for your help, Tom
Tom, As you can read in the install help (http://porting.openoffice.org/mac) the right version of the windowing program X11 for Tiger and Intel Mac sits on your Mac OSX installation disks (you can use Spotlight to find it). If it is already installed on your hard disk, you'll find it in Applications
Utilities.
Also beware to download the Tiger/Intel version of OpenOffice.org -- Guy using dutch OOo 2.1 RC 2 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
