An alternative to having to install X11, you can try NeoOffice
http://www.neooffice.org. The advantage here is that NeoOffice is
OpenOffice ported in to the
OS X native theme/desktop Aqua, so you don't need X11 installed. On my
Windows and *nix
machines I use OOo, on my new Mac I use NeoOffice.

Jorge (or Robert)
I don't know whether you (Jorge) are subscribed to the users list (if not, I
count on Robert to pass the answer on to you).
NeoOffice is a fork (spin off?) from OpenOffice.org, and while it used the
native Mac Aqua interface, some people find it rather slow, apparently
because it uses rather heavy Java routines...
As an alternative to NeoOffice (and directly responding to your question):
take a look at the install help at http://porting.openoffice.org/mac
You should install the windowing program X11 from your Mac OSX install disks
(you can search for it with Spotlight). It is the X11User.pkg you need. It
will be installed in Applications > Utilities. Once installed, OOo should
run smoothly.
Good luck
