I have a two questions: First, my new system came with MS office but did not include the Powerpoint portion of the program, is OpenOffice software fully customizable on the download so that I can install only the Impress portion of the program? Second, If I install the Openoffice program without having the existing MS Powerpoint program, will I be able to read and convert these files as needed? Thank you, ~Kathy
Hello Kathy With OpenOffice.org you can make presentations, read and save Powerpoint format, etc. OpenOffice.org is more like a single application with different components, not like M$Office with stand-alone parts. You will not gain much (space or whatever) when you install only Impress (the presentation component), and maybe lose some capabilities. Give it a try, it's free anyway -- Guy using dutch OOo 2.1 RC 2 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
