I have two suggestions.
1) At least once a day close OpenOffice.org completely including the
Quickstarter icon in the System tray. (This may or may not help.)
2) Create a custom dictionary or dictionaries for the words you add. I
have several custom dictioniaries that I have created and use
regularly.
To create a custom dictionary, use
Tools > Options > Language Settings > Write Aids. To the right of the
list of User-defined dictionaries, click the New button. Fill in the
necessary information. (Use Help if needed for this.) Click OK. Then
tick (click) the box in front of the dictionary name you just
created. Click OK.
