I have set up OOo (OpenOffice.org) on hundreds of computers with printers from many different manufacturers (including Samsung) and I never encountered a situation where the printer's default orientation needs to be changed. Have you set the page orientation to landscape in *both* OOo page format and your printer control. If you are using the "Print File Directly" button on the toolbar, try using "Menu -> File -> Print..." and then use the printer "properties" button to access your printer control, where you should be able to set the landscape format just for this document. If this works as expected, save the document and you should not need to reset the page orientation again if you reprint the document in future. Hope this helps.
