Yay! The part I was missing was changing the dropdown from JDBC to Spreadsheet. > Now you have two ways to enter information from the table into > Writer. > Click the rectangle in the upper left corner of the table display > on the right side of the Data window. Thanks for the rest of the details also. Last time I did this was a couple of years ago on OOo/Windows from an Access 2000 database. I knew I had to click on the corner rectangle and drag it onto the Writer document, but in my current version of OOo (2.0.4 on Ubuntu Edgy amd64) the drag and drop feature is broken. But the Data to Text button still got me the window where I can select the fields and I managed to merge the data. Now I have one more problem: How to get the various "New Database-x" out of the F4 window. They got in there as I kept trying to connect to the spreadsheet. None of them has any data. There seems to be no way to delete them. I would expect to select the "New Database-x," right-click on it and be given a "Delete" option, but that doesn't work. I've read the Help files, but connecting to and disconnecting from a database remains mysterious. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
