Hi, Steven.
Depending on your setup and distribution of choice, there are many
clients that work similar to Outlook. Among them, the four most popular
are probably:
* Novell Evolution [1] - This one is my personal favorite, and is
the PIM (Personal Information Management) solution for the
default GNOME desktop environment. It is a full Outlook
workalike, including functionality of email, contacts
management, calendaring, etc.
* Mozilla Thunderbird [2] - This one is mail/news-only, though
calendaring can be provided by its Sunbird extension. I like it
because its IMAP filters are *incredibly* fast, but its UI can
be a bit cluttered.
* Mozilla Seamonkey [3] - This is the community-driven successor
of the full Netscape/Mozilla application suite (e.g., browser,
webpage editor, mail client, et al. all in one package).
* KMail/Kontact [4] - This is the PIM solution for the K Desktop
Environment.
I've never tried Seamonkey or Kmail/Kontact. so I can't offer any
opinion on those. Evolution suits my needs best though, and seems to
integrate well with OpenOffice.org's "Mail merge" functionality. (I'm
using Fedora.)
Hope that helps.
