Rae,
I found my receipt. The program was called File Scavenger from QueTek
Consulting. I can't vouch for the program, nor will I say that I am
'recommending' it as such but as I said before it recovered most of
my lost pictures.
<http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm>
"File Scavenger® can also recover files from a reformatted or
corrupted volume. This is even possible when the volume has been
deleted and its original position and size are unknown."
It does mention that when you overwrite the files it is harder to
recover them so I would reiterate that if you wanted to use a program
like this NOT to install to many other programs or put files on your
hard drive until you have attempted a recovery.
Currently it appears to be on sale for $49.00
As I remember there were a few limitations when I was trying to use
it, such as me having to recover every .jpg rather than being able to
select them, though this may have been ironed out and it didn't cause
me to lose anything.
I hope some of this helps
Tom
