You say you think you installed the program and it took 35 minutes, but you haven't told us what messages were displayed on the screen during that time. Did they look anything like those shown on pages 26 - 32 of this document? http://documentation.openoffice.org/setup_guide2/2.x/en/SETUP_GUIDE.pdf Can you see the program in your "Start -> All Programs" menu?
