A snide remark. I can be terse too: EccoPro runs on Vista and out-performs LookOut, even today. This just came in on another list. > The main reason Outlook is my choice is its integration of > calendar, contacts, e-mails, documents, and tasks (to-dos). > You can create a task and attach to it any relevant information > including documents, e-mails, contact info for people involved, > links, etc. > When you're ready to schedule the task, you can drag and drop it > right into your calendar. When you go to do the task (either from > your calendar or a task list), everything you need to accomplish > it is right there in front of you. All true. However it is clunky bloatware that hackers and virus writers target and exploit. It is not fast when overloaded with a large database of contacts and saved E-Mails. It doesn't back up easy or intuitively. Its integration can be a blessing or a curse. Where it gains is marketshare and dumb down ease of use. A lot can get done at the corporate level more efficiently with less hand holding because of its notoriety and longevity and integration. I hope open office integrates a great PIM with security and an E-Mail client ... then we might have a marketshare contender.
