Hi
I have just upgraded to version OpenOffice2.2 which I am running on
a PC under Windows XP Home and on a laptop under XP Professional.

The only English language version I Could Find fro download was the
US-english version. Now despite setting the default language to
UK-english (and NOT ticking the "For the current document only"
box) every time I shut down and restart OpenOffice it defaults to
US-english. How do I stop this?

Also although I have used the "Install new dictionaries" wizard in
an attempt to install French (France) Dictionaries that language
remains un-ticked in the language list.

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Before you make this change, you need to close the quickstarter
in the System tray. It is the icon with three flying birds on a blue
and gray background. Make your changes and shut down OOo. When you
restart OOo, the defaults should be changed to what you want.

Hi Dan

Thanks for your comments

I have the Quickstarter disabled as I never use it anyway.

UK-English remains the default until I shut down OOo but it reverts to US-English when I reload. I have also tried shutting down the PC completely to be sure!
